Why did I choose this major?

• Interested in environment in HS and child
• Science related classes
• HS Environmental Action Club
  • Sustainability 

Why is environmental science important?

• Climate change pressing issue
• Globe warming
• Ocean rising
• Habitats being destroyed
• Animal pops 
• Human actions caused these problems now humans must act to solve them 
• Interested in learning how to help the environment

So what would it actually be like?

• I liked how the science major sounded more than studies
• Hands on, research oriented 
• 1st year: general science classes 
  • Biology, chem, stats
• 2nd year: big idea classes
  • Global perspectives, env policy, conservation/preservation
• 3rd/4th year: interesting classes having to do with major
  • Marine science, env science, women and the env
• Masters or grad school – PhD
• Jobs: env specialist, marine biologist, researcher, env conservationist
• Can go tons of different directions

Reflection

• Really liked it
• Interesting
• Make a difference
• Will likely declare before leaving for winter break

Group- Reflection

After sharing my project with my group, I understood that a slideshow would be very helpful for my presentation. I realized that I didn’t want to have many words on my slideshow, but instead it act as a visual tool with pictures that I can refer to when I’m presenting. I liked how some of my group members included a few quotes in their presentation-sensation and I might do that as well to add a little length.
